Legal issues are not considered here.  This is a universal combat system that can be adapted for specific goals and environments.

The system is called "15 limbs" because there are 15 weapons utilized, as follows:

Goals

The system is designed for both offensive and defensive purposes.  Aspects include:

  • Defense or Offense

  • Individual or multiple opponents simultaneously - Opponents can be armed to varying degrees.

  • Any platform or environmental conditions

A practical system of fighting

The system is based on the following premises:

  • Multiple weapons - Reliance on one weapon is not adequate given different variables of an encounter.  Several weapon options are required to be effective.

  • Weapon selection - An instantaneous, real-time method of weapon selection is needed based on varying situational variables.  Situational variables include operator goals, number and characteristics of opponents, distance, time, light, need for stealth, locality of associates/general public, and environmental elements.

  • Weapon availability - Procurement of the weapon options is easily possible and can be readily available in most settings.  There are no high-tech and esoteric weapon options presumed.

  • Equipment effectiveness - Correct equipment and correct configuration of the equipment is crucial.  This includes the weapons, harnesses, accessories and containers.  Where necessary, concealment is a consideration in effectiveness.

  • Seamless weapon transition - Transitional phasing from one weapon to another needs to be integrated, seamless and fast.  Transitions can occur multiple times instantaneously in a time period.

  • Portability - The operator needs to securely and safely carry the weapons.  In addition, the weapons need to be easily accessible to the operator while at the same time ensuring retention capability.

  • Environment - Objects of an environment are utilized.  The operator needs to be skilled in real-time identification of environmental options.  Objectives of utilization include:

  • Destruction (neutralize the opponent)

  • Reduction (diminish the opponent's ability for offense, setting up opponent for destruction)

  • Distraction (technique to divert the opponent's attention)

  • Obstruction (defensive technique deflect impact of opponent's weapon)

Principles of Mastery

  • Combat mindset

  • Thorough understanding of deadly force

  • Thorough knowledge and skill of individual weapon options

  • Interactive, real-time scenario training

  • Stress and environmental simulation

  • Repetition and practice
